#CGDSOCIETY

The last 30 years of CGD Society have been quite a journey.

From our small, determined beginnings, we’ve turned a passionate small group into a worldwide collective of members – sharing vital information, stories and support.

We’ve seen remarkable progress with our funding that we’ve provided into research and clinical trials, especially Gene Therapy.

We’ve listened to our members tailored our information, programmes and services, accordingly, providing a CGD Clinical Nurse Specialist to help families navigate their journeys.

We’ve started a fundraising campaign - Jeans for Genes - that is now in its 26th year, that has funded thousands of UK projects and charities, donating over £45 million to genetic disorder groups.

We’ve established a thorough, informative worldwide used website – for those living with CGD and for medical professionals too.

We’ve raised funds and awareness tirelessly – maintaining our support services and helpline all through the pandemic to ensure that our families and members were heard, listened to and helped whatever their query.

And we’ve done it all with you by our sides.  With your help, we continue to work hard daily on our main mission – a cure for all with CGD.

And so, this is our opportunity to say two very little but heartfelt words.  Thank you.

Thank you to the companies who given their support and encouragement along the way: organizations like Orchard Therapeutics , AMRC and Costello Medical – it really does mean the world knowing you stand shoulder to shoulder with us.

Thank you to the funders – organisations like Lottery Fund and Charities Aid Foundation.  We know that competition for funding is fierce which makes us both grateful and proud that you acknowledged and encouraged our potential.

Thank you to our members and social media followers: every share of our newsletter, comment, like or sharing links makes our presence felt and makes more people aware of CGD.

Thank you to all our wonderful fundraisers : you have been there every step of our journey – running marathons, knitting hats, running bake sales, challenging yourselves and getting sponsorship from friends and family for our joint cause.  Not only do you bring essential funds into our organisation to ensure that our vital services continue but you bring a smile to our faces and a warm glow to our hearts.  We honestly could not be any prouder of you all and are behind you all the way – whatever challenge you’ve given yourselves!

Thank you also to everyone who has donated or fundraised in memory of a loved one.  Losing a loved one is devasting and we appreciate your support during a difficult and sad time.  In their name, we can continue our research and vital services, ensuring their love and light continues forever

We may be a small charity, but we have big visions and a big mission.  Together, as a united force, we can ensure that the next 30 years bring more research, more information, more understanding until we reach our destination – the cure for all with CGD.

Thank you all for it all.  Like we said at the start, it’s been quite the journey.  We couldn’t and wouldn’t have done it without you.  Here’s to 30 years of CGD and we can’t wait to see what the next 30 brings, together.
