X-linked CGD Carrier Females

This section of our website is for carrier females who carry X-linked CGD (XL-CGD).

XL-CGD carrier females will have been identified because a male member (father, son, brother, cousin, nephew) of their family has been diagnosed with CGD.

A note for carriers of autosomal recessive CGD (AR-CGD)

Carriers of AR-CGD may be male or female. The mutation that causes AR-CGD may sit on one or across a number of chromosomes 1 to 22. There has been no evidence to date that being a carrier of AR-CGD, whether male or female, is the cause of any health issues.
