Our Trustees

If you would like to find out about becoming a trustee of the CGD Society, please email us.

Geoff Creamer, Secretary

Geoff has been a Trustee for over 30 years with two periods as Chair and has seen this charity change from a small patient support group to an international resource for those affected by CGD. With two sons born with CGD, and his late wife being a carrier, he has personal experience of the anxiety and management challenges of living with this rare condition. However, he has witnessed the transformational impact of modern medical interventions too, including a successful bone marrow transplant for his eldest son Alex who now lives and works in Sydney. From a trustee perspective, these life changing developments make the role so rewarding. Being a trustee can be hard work but this charity has genuinely improved the lives of many in the CGD community both in the UK and overseas which makes Geoff and his colleagues very proud of what we do.

Ning He, Trustee

Ning's son, Johnathan, was diagnosed with X-linked CGD in 2006 and had a successful bone marrow transplant in 2013. His family received a lot of information and support from the CGD Society over the years. Ning became a trustee in 2015. He currently works as an accountant.

Chikai currently holds a director position at a pharmaceutical company. Through his work, he became aware of patient advocacy group community and its critical role in ensuring patient needs are served. He became a trustee in October 2019.

He is now focussing on using these skills to support others including CGD Society, who he came across when looking for a trustee role. He was impressed with how professional the charity seemed to be and the amount of information and support provided to help the CGD community.
He became a trustee in September 2023 and has had an amazing journey. This has included meeting the Clinical Nurse Specialist that CGD Society fund at Great Ormond Street Hospital and members of the CGD community, that was a real honour. In addition, as Chair of one of the Sub-Committees, Alan is more involved in supporting the work of the charity between the quarterly board meetings.  He is also helping with the developing the charity and its system, to improve Strategy / Operation going forward and enjoying working with other like-minded professionals on the board and the staff team.
