In memory
As we look back at 30 years as a charity, it is important to remember those that we have lost to CGD.
Advances in research and treatments for CGD over the last 30 years has meant that life expectancy has increased and quality of life for many has improved.
We have seen an increased success rate in treating CGD with a bone marrow transplant from both related and unrelated donors. However, this procedure is not without its risks and is not an option for everybody with CGD.
Although rare, sadly adults and children still lose their life to CGD.
Losing a loved one is the most difficult and painful experience. Grief comes in many forms and there is no wrong or right way to grieve.
