CGD Education Day
We had a fantastic day at the CGD Education Day on Thursday 25th January, taking place at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and bringing together experts in CGD from a variety of medical professions for 15 talks throughout the day.
Staff and trustees were there representing the CGD Society and had so many interesting discussions, making new connections and building the anticipation for our new medical information booklets.
Helen (pictured below) led an insightful demonstration of the choices CGD patients face throughout their patient journey. Helen is GOSH's CGD Clinical Nurse Specialist whose role is fully funded by the CGD Society.
We were moved by each of Alfie (pictured below) and Simon's talks about their personal experiences with bone marrow transplants and reflecting on what it is like living with CGD - thank you to both of them for coming along and speaking so candidly.
Thank you to Helen for organising the fantastic day, everybody learnt a lot. We can move forwards with confidence that there is a brilliant community of dedicated healthcare professionals committed to working alongside us to achieve our aim of enabling families and individuals affected by CGD to live life to the full.
