Join our board of trustees and make a difference
Join our friendly and ambitious board and make a difference to those affected by Chronic Granulomatous Disorder.
The CGD society is a small but ambitious, family led organisation with international reach. Whilst dedicated to providing support to individuals and families affected by this rare immune deficiency, we have a long-term vision to find a cure for all.
We are working to improve support for families by expanding and diversifying funding streams, partnering with experts in our rare disease space and strengthening our governance activity. Come and join this hands-on organisation run by a friendly and active team of five Trustees whilst collaborating closely with a small staff who maintain our services and a Clinical Nurse Specialist who provides expert care and front-line support.
This is a great opportunity for new and experienced trustees looking to make a real difference and grow in the charity sector. You’d be working alongside experienced board members who will support you in the role and necessary training will be provided.
We have some specific skills gaps we would like to fill which are listed below but in doing so we are also particularly keen to diversify our Board in terms of age, race, gender and religion.
Legal (ideally with some experience within the charity setting) as an essential point of reference
Fundraising, especially grant writing as we seek to diversify our income sources
Healthcare professional to help our understanding of healthcare delivery in the UK
Brand development to get the most out of our assets
Digital Marketing to help our fundraising and communication efforts
Trustees are volunteers (although expenses will be reimbursed) and normally work in one specialist committee, as well as prepare for and join five Board meetings per year.
We look forward to you joining our community and sharing our future successes together.
