Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why volunteer for CGD Society?
A. You will be making a real difference to families and individuals affected by CGD in the UK and internationally. We are the only UK registered charity providing vital support services and information to those affected and their wider family and we are a small team trying to make a difference. There is also the sense of achievement in knowing you have helped others.
As quoted by Heather French Henry – “Volunteering is at the very core of being human. No one has made it through life without someone else’s help”
Q. What skills and experience do I need?
A. Some of our volunteering roles do require specific skills but the main thing you need is a passion to make a difference. We ask is that you are reliable and that you are honest with the time you can give.
Q. Will I get paid for volunteering?
All volunteering posts are not paid but we will cover any expenses occurred within reason.
Q. How much time do I need to give?
A. This depends on your personal circumstances and what volunteering role you would like to fulfil. Some roles we will ask for a certain amount of time needed per week or month, or some will be a one-off opportunity. We are happy to discuss different options with you.
